When Annie told me that Sunset Cliffs was the first place that her now husband, Paul, had taken her when they visited San Diego I thought – that could be a great location… When she told me that during that trip to the cliffs was when she first realized she was in love, I knew, this was the perfect place for their engagement portrait location! It’s great to have a pretty backdrop or a landmark for your city when choosing your engagement portrait location, but a place that means something to the two of you and the story of you falling in love, that’s what you will remember looking back in 20 years. It doesn’t hurt that Sunset Cliffs is amazing and we had a crazy colorful sunset as our backdrop either!
When I met Annie + Paul, I could see immediately that these two are best friends. They are so goofy together and we had so much fun just hanging out and playing with the amazing light and landscape the cliffs had to offer. We even caught a glimpse of some whales off the coast! These two are so much fun to hang out with, we could have kept shooting all night if the darn sun wouldn’t have set! I am in love with how this shoot turned out and the colorful tone to the entire set. Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot. Enjoy!
