Amanda and Amos became friends of ours a few years back when we were still living in North Park. They quickly became close friends, with our husbands sharing a love of Formula 1 and Amanda and I sharing a love of Super Mario and Dexter. I was so honored after they were engaged, that she allowed me to capture the day!
I cry at every wedding I shoot but this one was a doozy! Getting to know these two as they go through life together, I’ve seen them laugh together on good days and cry together on bad days. When Amanda lost her grandfather [who she lovingly called Dad] just before her wedding, it was unclear if they could continue with the wedding. Seeing these two come together in that moment and support each other was one of the most beautiful acts of courage and love I’ve ever seen between a couple. My favorite photo from the entire day is after the officiant gave a moment of silence for Amanda’s grandfather and in that moment Amanda’s looks at Amos as if to say – I need you, and Amos looks at Amanda as if to say – I’ve got you. This is why I do what I do, because the greatest gift I can give anyone is a beautiful image, that captured a moment, that would have otherwise been gone in an instant.
My love to you Amos and Amanda! Thank you for being such great friends and allowing me to be a part of your day! Here are my favorite shots from the day. Enjoy!
