I had the pleasure of working with the Livingstons in 2011 before they were graced with little baby Maxton. I was happy they invited me into their home for our second photo shoot to help welcome their new addition. Maxton was less than pleased to be passed around all naked for portraits (as most newborns are) but we got some amazing portraits during our session. It is so special to do an in home newborn portrait shoot. This is where the whole family feels comfortable and you can really get some unique candid imagery. I chose a long time ago not to do studio portraiture. As adorable as newborn portraits can be with the beanbag shots in the studio on a black backdrop, what I really connect with are the images of moms and dads loving their new babies. Those real moments when you can’t help but know that this baby is a blessing and there is real love in this space. Capturing those moments will mean so much more than cute pictures. You have to have a couple cutesy pictures though, come on!! It was a pleasure working with the Livingstons again and I look forward to our next shoot together. Here are a few of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!
